YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X and Vimeo. Pick the quality and the audio language, take the subtitles as a real caption track, and the file is placed at the playhead in a format Premiere actually plays.

Take ten seconds out of a ten minute video.
Drag the two ends over a strip of the video and only that piece is downloaded. Not the whole file cut afterwards - only the part you chose ever comes down the wire.
Seconds, not minutes
Eleven seconds of a 4K video came down in about forty seconds and 25 MB, against 395 MB for the whole thing. A 480p piece of the same length took sixteen seconds and 1.2 MB.
See what you are cutting
The strip is made of the video's own preview frames, so you can find the moment by eye. Move the cursor along it and the frame under it appears above the strip.
Exactly the piece you picked
The ends are cut where you put them, not rounded out to the nearest keyframe. Ask for eleven seconds and the clip on your timeline is eleven seconds.
Nothing downloaded to preview
Those preview frames are a handful of small images the site already publishes for its own scrub bar. The video itself is untouched until you press Download.
Every option, without leaving Premiere
Built for the way you already edit.
Plays in Premiere
H.264 is preferred. When a site only offers VP9 or AV1, the file is converted automatically. A Convert button does the same for files you already have.
Just the part you need
Trim before downloading: drag the ends over a strip of the video's own preview frames and only that stretch is fetched. On by default.
Any quality
4K, 2K, 1080p, 720p or audio only. The panel remembers your last choice and pre-selects it.
Audio language
Videos with several audio tracks let you pick the language before the download.
Subtitles as captions
Uploaded or automatic subtitles become an editable Premiere caption track, in the language you choose.
Auto-fetch on paste
Paste a link and the options appear. The sidebar's Download button even takes the link from your clipboard.
Recent list
Thumbnails of everything you downloaded, one click to place again. Files are saved in an Outflow Downloads folder next to your project.
Three steps. Nothing to learn.
Everything it needs is kept up to date from the panel with one button. Please respect the rights of the people who made the videos you download.
Paste a link in the panel, or copy one and press Download link in the sidebar.
Pick quality, audio track and subtitles from the list that appears.
Download. One at a time, with a progress bar; the clip is imported, converted if needed, and placed at the playhead with the caption track.
Frequently asked
Does trimming download the whole video and then cut it?
No. Only the bytes for the stretch you chose are fetched, which is why eleven seconds of a long 4K video takes about forty seconds instead of many minutes. The ends are cut exactly where you put them. If a site ever refuses to serve part of a file, the panel notices the download came back too long and trims it for you, so you always end up with the piece you picked.
Where do the preview frames on the strip come from?
From the small preview images the site already publishes for its own scrub bar - a handful of them, fetched in a moment. The video itself is not touched until you press Download. Sites that do not publish them show a plain bar and the trim still works.
Is the downloader free?
Yes. Download media is free for everyone with an account, with no download limit. Pro adds Auto Edit, the assistants and Remove music.
Which sites?
YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, X, Vimeo, and hundreds of other sites. Private or paywalled content is not supported.
Why does 4K sometimes take longer?
YouTube serves 4K as VP9 or AV1, which Premiere cannot play. The panel re-encodes it to H.264 after the download, which takes a minute or two.
Where do the files go?
In an "Outflow Downloads" folder next to your project file, and in an Outflow Downloads bin in the Project panel.
