Relight · First export free

Light the shot after you shot it.

Select a clip, drop lights on the preview. A key from the side, a rim from behind, a spot on the face, neon from both sides. The panel reads the shape of everything in the frame and shades it the way a real light would, live while you drag. Render on your own GPU, nothing uploaded.

Free to download. One Relight export a month is free, Pro makes it unlimited. Tested on Premiere Pro 2026; 2025 and 2024 work too.

What you get

A lighting rig for footage that already exists.

Point and spot lights

Up to six. Drag them on the picture, aim a spot at a target, set colour, intensity and reach. Change every light at once or one at a time.

Placed in depth

A top view shows the subject from above. Put a light in front of them or behind them for a rim, and see the result in the preview at once.

Presets that read right

Key light, key and rim, golden hour, backlight, spotlight, neon, overhead. Or pick a background photo and match its light.

Ground shadow and leaves

On a cutout from Remove background: a soft shadow thrown from your key light across the floor, and moving dappled light as if shot under a tree.

Even out, then grade

Flatten the light the clip already has before the new lights go on. Then exposure, contrast, saturation, temperature, tint and a three-point curve.

Lands in place

The relit clip goes on the track above, same position and length, transparency kept. The original's video is switched off, its audio stays.

How it works

Three steps. Nothing to learn.

Typical uses: a flat talking head that needs a key and a rim, a cutout that has to sit in a new background, a scene that should feel like golden hour, a product that wants a spot.

1

Select the clip in the timeline and open Relight. A preview frame appears by itself.

2

Drag the lights, pick a preset or match a photo, switch on a shadow, grade the colour. Everything redraws live.

3

Render. The relit clip lands on the track above and the original's video goes dark.

Questions

Frequently asked

Is Relight free?

The preview is free and one export a month is free. Pro ($19 a month or $149 a year) makes exports unlimited. The engine runs on your PC, there are no credits.

How real does it look?

The panel reads the surface direction of everything in the frame, so faces, folds and walls catch the light from the right side and fall off on the other. Broad lights look right; a hard shadow of one object onto another is not possible without real 3D.

Where does the ground shadow come from?

From the outline of a cutout. It is thrown along the floor away from the light you choose, blurred with distance, and written into the clip's transparency, so it lands on whatever you put on the track below.

Does my footage leave my computer?

No. Decoding, the engine, the shading and the encoding all run locally.

Do I need a GPU?

It runs on the CPU too, only slower. Any DirectX 12 GPU from NVIDIA, AMD or Intel makes it several times faster. A one-minute clip takes about a minute on a modern card.
